We recently closed on our new build home just outside of the Nashville area. I wanted to share some of the bargain home decor items we have purchased to spruce up our new space. We have also made quite a few updates to the builder grade fixtures. This includes changing out some of the lighting and hardware. I really wanted to come in and make this home our own!
You don’t have to spend a fortune to give your home a custom appearance. Inexpensive updates like changing out the kitchen cabinet hardware can make a huge difference. Amazon has a huge selection of cabinet pulls and knobs that look very high end without breaking the bank.
Changing out lighting fixtures is also another inexpensive way to customize your home on a budget. We changed out the builder grade pendant lights and added a dining room light. Adding rugs to your living and dining areas is also an easy way to spruce up your space.
Most of these items are budget friendly and from Amazon, Target or Walmart. I am always trying to save money when it comes to furniture and decor, so I was really excited to find all of these bargain home decor items at such a great price point.

Updating Kitchen Hardware
The heart of any home is the kitchen, and we wanted it to reflect our style. By replacing the builder-grade silver hardware with elegant gold kitchen pulls and knobs, we instantly elevated the look. These affordable kitchen hardware options from Amazon blended seamlessly with our decor.

Swapping out Builder Grade Lighting
The next update we made was to switch out the builder grade pendant lights in the kitchen. I found these great budget-friendly pendant lights from Amazon. These pendant lights are large and look much more expensive than they are. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the silver piece at the top of the lamp shade. I decided to spray paint these with a can of Rustoleum Metallic spray in Champagne Bronze.

Creating a charming dining area was next on our list. We fell in love with a captivating caged light fixture from Home Depot that became the centerpiece of the room. Paired with Spindled Black Dining Chairs, a Wooden Dining Table, and other decorative elements, our dining room came to life.

Adding Affordable Pieces to Living Area
For the living room, we aimed for a serene ambiance with cool neutral tones and natural woods. Target, Amazon, and Walmart provided the perfect affordable decor items.

An easy and affordable way to decorate and personalize your living area is to add a shelf. This one pictured is from Target and is under $130. It’s a great and budget friendly alternative to built-ins. You can add things like vases, picture frames, books and more! It has been one of my favorite additions to our living room.

Our home now reflects our unique style and personality, all achieved through affordable and creative decor updates. By combining budget-friendly finds from Amazon, Target, and Walmart with a touch of personalization, we’ve turned our new build into a warm and inviting space. Remember, making your home your own doesn’t have to be expensive – with some creativity and resourcefulness, you can achieve stunning results without breaking the bank. Happy decorating!
