So maybe you’ve just found out that you’re pregnant and are wondering what now? What do I need to make it as enjoyable and easy as possible? Cause let’s be honest, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows! From morning sickness to back aches and stretch marks, pregnancy can definitely be challenging at times. I have put together a list below of my must-have pregnancy items.
Your pregnancy is something that you want to remember and look back on when it is all said and done. Although every pregnancy differs these were some of my must have items that I found to be the most helpful through both of my pregnancies. I also included a couple items to help make it a memorable experience as well. Here are my must-have pregnancy items. Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to Amazon. - Heartbeat Doppler Monitor– For me, the best part about this was the peace of mind it brought. I had two very rough pregnancies and constantly worried that something was wrong. Using this was super reassuring and put my mind at ease when I was concerned or not feeling baby move as much. Just make sure you are waiting until the 12th week or later to use as it often cannot detect the heartbeat before then.
- Hydroflask Water Bottle – Staying hydrated is SO important during pregnancy not only for you, but for your growing baby as well. Your recommended water intake is actually higher when you’re pregnant; you should be drinking 12-13 glasses a day. That being said, this is my absolute favorite water bottle. It holds so much and keeps my water cold all day. Also something about using a straw helps me to drink more water than usual.
- Bellaband– I used this through both of my pregnancies and was able to wear my non-maternity jeans till the very end! It’s great when you are too small for maternity pants but your regular pants are getting a little snug in the waist. Totally a lifesaver for me.
- Belli Stretch Mark Oil– I wish I had discovered this with my first pregnancy. I used Bio-Oil and still got a few tiger stripes around my bellybutton. This was recommended to me with my second and I did not get any new stretch marks. It even seemed to help with the appearance of my old ones! While there are so many options out there I’ve read tons of great things about this oil.
- Mommee Coffee– This stuff is great for any big coffee drinker. I had such a hard time giving it up as a working mom and then I found this on Amazon. It comes in decaf, low caff and half caff options to help reduce your caffeine intake during pregnancy. It is also low in acid which is great for those who are suffering from heartburn as well. The flavor is awesome and you would never guess that is has less caffeine than regular coffee.
- Keepsake Pregnancy Journal – This journal is such a cool way to track and remember your pregnancy. It is definitely something that you can look back on and maybe even give to your child one day. I wanted something to help remember the details of my pregnancy, because trust me, you will forget! This journal is a way to document those memories, experiences and feelings that come along with pregnancy.
- Vitamin B6 & Unisom– This is for those who suffer with morning sickness. I tried everything and I mean EVERYTHING to help with my constant nausea and vomiting and this combination of Unisom and Vitamin b6 is the only thing that would help. Some of you may have heard of diclegis, which is prescribed to women with severe morning sickness. Often times insurances don’t cover it and it can cost over $500! These two things are the generic version of it – literally the exact same ingredients. Obviously consult with your doctor if you have concerns before taking this, but it is safe for pregnancy and was a total lifesaver for me.
- Maternity Leggings – I pretty much lived in leggings my entire pregnancy and these are an obvious must-have for your maternity wardrobe. Being comfortable was important to me and nothing is more comfy than a pair of cozy leggings. These ones are super soft.
- Pink Stork Bath Salts– These bath salts are made for pregnancy and contain magnesium to help with nausea and vomiting. I totally noticed a difference when I used them. I was much more relaxed and even slept better. Great for those nights when you are having a hard time falling asleep – oh the perks of pregnancy!
- Body Pillow– This was a must-have for me towards the end of my pregnancy. I was so uncomfortable and this was a huge help with getting a better nights sleep. I am normally a stomach sleeper and this pillow actually made it bearable for me to sleep on my side. It was also great for my back and hip pain in the third trimester.
- Pregnancy Milestone Photo Props– These are cardboard photos for each week of your pregnancy. They are perfect for taking pictures of your baby bump for every milestone, and seeing the progress of your pregnancy. Each photo tells you the size of your baby in comparison to a fruit or vegetable. This is something that I regretted not doing with my first baby because it is such a cool thing to look back on and see the changes from week to week.
12. One a Day Prenatal Vitamins– I tried several different brands of vitamins and these were definitely my favorite. I love that you only have to take one pill a day instead of three like many other brands. I found that a lot of other prenatal vitamins made me feel really sick and nauseated as well and I never experienced that with these.
13. Belli Anti-Blemish Face Wash– In my first trimester I started breaking out like crazy. This was recommended to me (as well as the stretch mark oil) and I fell in love with this brand. I noticed a big difference in my skin immediately. It is specifically for pregnant women and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or additives either!
